Season 8 Arrives!

Season Reset

Welcome to Season 8! As with all season resets, the current leaderboard has been frozen and a new seasonal leaderboard begins.


All ops are locked again, but all unspent Op from last season will roll over to this season! Bonus Op Points based on the Prestige Tier you achieved during the last season have been awarded.


Certain Ops have been cycled in and out, with new Ops replacing some old Ops (which may return in the future). Op rank requirements and rank rewards have been updated.


A brand new card has been added to the Legend Tier. Each of the cards currently available in Prestige Tiers have dropped down one Tier: Legend into Conqueror, Conqueror into Guardian, and Guardian into its designated unlock point in the lower Tiers.


All players in Prestige Tiers (Guardian III Tier and above) have been awarded a Prestige Box based on the highest Prestige Tier achieved during the season and their Victory Points have been reset to predefined amounts (as designated on the Tier screen).


The competition begins anew! Rise to the top of the Leaderboards and unlock unreleased cards in the Prestige Tiers!

War Hero

  • Tactics Card

  • Cost 4

  • A single heroic infantry fighter who parachutes into battle. The War Hero is a capable fighter who uses a flamethrower, machine gun, and grenades depending on his target type and gains rank and a damage bonus the longer he survives. He will also leave Capture Points and continue pressing forward when idle for too long.

Prestige Tier Reset Changes

Instead of always dropping to specific Victory Points based on current Prestige Tier, Players will now always drop 3 Tiers at the season reset, backstopping at Guardian III. This will give dedicated players more opportunity to climb the ladder into the Conqueror and Legend Tiers.


Prestige Tier Ladder Bonus

This season, players will only lose a maximum of 10 Victory Points when they lose a battle, but will still gain a maximum of 15 when they win.


General Gameplay

  • Added Capture Point occupant icons for Rocket Launcher, Combat Engineer, Grenadier, and War Hero.

  • Fixed a bug where the Radio Tower can be assigned to the wrong player during the frame when a capture point is changing.

  • New Challenge Modes have been added.

BALANCE CHANGES:

Tactics


Paratroopers

  • Decreased riflemen spawned from 9 to 7

  • Given their ability to take capture points anywhere on the map, Paratroopers were a little too valuable for a 2 cost card. We’ve decreased the amount of riflemen spawned to make it more difficult for them to overtake fortified positions.





Firebomb

  • Increased Vehicle Burn Damage from 30 to 35

  • Increased Building Burn Damage from 30 to 35

  • A small boost to Firebomb’s secondary damage roles to help it a little against decks with minimal infantry.






White Phosphorus

  • Decreased all Burn damage from 50 to 30

  • Decreased Burn duration from 6 to 3 seconds

  • Previously, the overall damage made it far too strong, so we’ve reduced the burn’s damage and duration. This will cause it to be weaker and decrease the amount of time infantry units panic before dying.




Land Mines and Anti-Tank Mines

  • Decreased Health from 3000 to 2000

  • We’re making mines easier to destroy with area tactics this season to promote more high-skill counter play.



Last Stand

  • Units affected by Last Stand can now be killed if they take too much additional Damage at 1 health.

  • Added maximum Damage death prevention and set it to 5000 health.

  • Added key visuals to Last Stand which display when death prevention is in effect

  • The binary effects of Last Stand were too difficult to properly balance against other tactics in the game so we’ve added a maximum amount of damage it can prevent before units affected by it can die. This will prevent players from creating builds that rely solely on maxing out levels on a single unit type and using it in combination with Last Stand to achieve victory.


Anti-Armor Rounds

  • Changed visual effect aura from a circle to a triangle

  • Previously, the Anti-Armor Rounds and Ammo Box buff effect were both represented by a circle. This change will help differentiate the two and is visual only.






Units


All Tanks

  • Changed the 10% base Health increase from Season 4 to a 5% increase.

  • In Season 4, we increased the base health of all tanks by 10%. Over the last four seasons we have observed a lot of tank spamming in the early tiers, so we are reducing 5% of this change.


Tank Destroyer

  • Decreased Vehicle Damage from 6750 to 6425

  • We’re decreasing Tank Destroyer’s damage slightly to stay in balance with the reduction to all Tank health.







Super Heavy Tank

  • Increased 128mm Gun Damage Radius from 3.5 to 4

  • Increased Secondary Gun Damage Radius from 2 to 2.25

  • Increased Movement Speed from 1.75 to 2

  • To grant the SHT more of a Heroic impact in combat, we’re increasing its splash damage on both guns and accelerating its tracks a little.




SNIPER

  • Now prioritizes attacking infantry targets with the highest maximum Health

  • Snipers will now be more effective at taking out high value targets like Radio Operators and Commandos by prioritizing its attack against the highest max Health target of enemy infantry in range.




flamethrower

  • Removed ability to enter capture points

  • Increased Burn Duration from 5 seconds to 10 seconds

  • We felt the Flamethrower’s primary goal of incinerating buildings was being inhibited by entering capture points. Like the Shotgunner, Flamethrowers will now push the front line, reaching Bunkers and other buildings faster for maximal damage.

  • Reduced Knockback from 1 to 0.5

  • Reduced Knockback Stun Duration

  • Shotgunners would often run into problems fighting other shotgunners where the first group to shoot would snowball the other group due to the knockback and long stun. Additionally, shotgunners would stun lock enemies in capture points. This change reduces these issues.



combat engINEER

  • Decreased Health from 3000 to 2750

  • Combat Engineers had a bit too much health so we’ve reduced it this season.
